Zonta International is a human rights organisation focussed on women and children.
On 21 June, STEMM Coordinators, Jacqui and Janelle, were honoured to attend the annual celebration dinner of the Zonta Club of Maroochy where one of the guest speakers was our very own STEMM graduate, Rebecca Kildey.
Rebecca overcame many barriers in her life and through her resilience and determination and the support she received, she now manages two direct disability support services, as well as being mum to two wonderful children.
The second guest speaker was August, a year six student at St Andrew's Anglican College. August identified the problem young women with children are facing in trying to access and complete education and she is organising a trivia fundraising night to raise money for STEMM. What an inspiration she is!
We are so grateful to receive financial support from Zonta and their donation will enable STEMM to fund a Self-Defence and First Aid Course for our young, pregnant and parenting women. By educating a Mother, you educate a Family. Thank you for your kind support.
