The children and young mothers at STEMM were recently treated to an extra special playgroup session with Sunshine Coast Lightning Players, Laura Scherian and Tara Hinchcliffe, as part of the Lightning's 'Confident Girls Foundation'.
The Confident Girls Foundation empowers young women to feel confident about themselves and by bringing Lightning players, Tara and Laura, to participate in the 'Making Rainbows' session, they did just that!
The STEMM children and their mothers participated in music, movement and sensory play activities with Johanna from 'Making Rainbows', followed by a morning tea with the Lightning Players and CEO of 'The Confident Girls Foundation', Vicki Gillespie.
This connection to community and spending time with these inspirational female role models is so valuable to the young women at STEMM to demonstrate they can achieve better futures for themselves and their children.
All the ladies and children at STEMM would like to express their sincere gratitude to Sunshine Coast Lightning, 'The Confident Girls Foundation' and 'Making Rainbows' for such a special day.
